  1. What is Text Tutor ?

TextTutor is a service that allows students to learn ACT and SAT vocabulary words using a learning device that is very familiar to them – their cell phone. Vocabulary definitions, along with sample sentences, are sent to the student's cell phone using SMS text messaging. The definition and a sample sentence are also sent as a voice message to the student's phone. Students can study the definitions any time and any place. Then a simple text message quiz is sent to the student's phone. top of page

  5. How often will I be quizzed?

You will be quizzed at least once for each vocabulary word. Therefore, you will be quizzed at least once a day. If you do not get a chance to take the quiz on the day it is received, you can take the quiz at any convenient time. The average delivery of vocabulary words is once per day.  Technical difficulties such as cellular outages, hardware failure, or issues with the student's cell phone or wireless receptions may prevent the delivery of vocabulary words on some days.
